What's new

Rock album where all songs are great

Southside Johnny and the Asbury Jukes - Hearts of Stone (possibly my favorite album of all time)
Nick Lowe - Labour of Lust
Crosby, Stills, Nash, and Young - Deja Vu
Jethro Tull - Aqualung
Blondie - Parallel Lines
Boston - Boston

I've tried not to repeat albums already mentioned but there are quite a few of those that I fully agree with.

Black Sabbath - first 3 albums
Led Zeppelin - First 4 albums
Ozzy - Diary Of A Madman and Blizzard Of Oz
Rush - A Farewell To Kings
Def Leppard - Pyromania
Kiss - Destroyer
Buddy Holly - Greatest Hits
Jimi Hendrix - Are You Experienced

There's probably much more that I can't think of right now.

I agree with all of these, but switch out Love is Hell for Heartbreaker... or maybe even Cold Roses. Those are my two favorite Ryan Adams albums.

+1 for Cold Roses.

Heartbreaker had brilliant moments, but unfortunately just as many mediocre moments. Still worth giving a spin though.

These are some of my favorites and weren't necessarily mainstream when they were released; as usual it's YMMV and there's some "CD bands" in here.

Simple Minds--New Gold Dream (81-82-83-84); Sparkle in the Rain; and Live
Genesis--Trick of the Tail; Wind and Wuthering
Missing Persons--Rhyme and Reason
Pet Shop Boys-Please
Yes-Close to the Edge
Uriah Heep--Greatest Hits
Queensryche--Operation: Mindcrime; Rage for Order

Hmm. I agree with so many of the ones already posted.

I love Everybody Knows This Is Nowhere (Neil Young)
I love Doolittle (Pixies)
I love The Beatles (White Album)...and pretty much every other Beatles album.
I love One Nation Under A Groove (PFunk)
I love The Ramones' Ramones
I used to love Lenny Kravitz's debut album, but lost it and haven't listened to it for years, so I might have changed my mind on that.

Bah, I could go on forever.

But I also love at least 150 more albums from start to finish, many of which aren't ROCK in its strictest sense.

Ray Charles-Modern Sounds...
Tribe Called Quest-The Low End Theory
At least half of Miles Davis' Discography
The Jobim/Getz/Gilberto collaborations

Ok, really, I have to stop. Not enough time to list all that I wish I could.

Ray Charles-Modern Sounds...

That's top 5 albums of all time material for me.

I'll add this:
