DE SOTD, Aug 25th, 2021

Razor: Razorock 2nd Gen Lupo.72, Excellent mid range, best DE design in my large collection, carefree shave, daily shaver for some folks.
Blade: Derby Premium(4),great blade, sharp & smooth with reasonably longevity, best Derby blade IMO.
Soap: Razorock Irish Countryside, mild scent, excellent lather qualities.
Brush: Yaqi Atlantis 24mm synthetic, Excellent lather generator, cloud like soft tips, great scrubber, nice lather painter, kind of almost mocks a 2band badger in feel since using badgers. Atlantis does not exactly feel like my 2 band badgers but getting closer.
Pre shave: Brush wash whole face with CeraVe hand bar cleanser + a dollop of clear Aloe Vera gel on the cleaned beard area.
Prep: Cold water rinse after each pass of 2 + pickups.
Post shave: Witch hazel + Nivea refreshing AS + a dollop of Nivea balm with HA.
Results: CCS,DFS,BBs + no irritation + no weepers= excellent shave with my RR Lupo.72 with a Derby Premium blade.

It hurts so good!
Toronto is in the middle of a heat wave and I had to break out the Glacial Obsidian to help make it survivable. The King of Cool? Obsidian has to be the coldest thing I own including the ice cubes in my freezer. Wow! Just Wow! The splash is so cold it hurts…but I’m loving it.
Oh yeah, the shave. The shave was good. The Shovelhead is the noisiest razor I own. A small dot of blood on the towel. I don’t know where it’s from. I got a nice BBS, but can tell that Shovelheads prefer a newer blade with less shaves on it than other GEM razors.
I want to go down to the beach but my poor nose is waiting for Amazon to deliver my SPF 110 sun block.

This is my second shave in a row using the Merkur 34C HD. I find the razor a bit too aggressive shaving against the grain on my throat. Tomorrow its back to the Gillette 195!
