Last picture is the puzzled face when trying to decide which Captain’s Choice Aftershave to use!
FWIW it is absolutely true for most of us. I'm in my late 40's, and with my salt and pepper beard look every bit my age. Clean shaven I easily pass for a dozen years younger 
Now that's a good one - a "salt & pepper" beard
Being 47 I can totally relate, as it's been getting ever more "salty" lately.

And that's using a cart. Think how much younger he would look if he had used a de!
Last time I tried a beard it was 90% salt. I'm trying to cut down on my salt intake so I shaved the beard.

Same age range and I guess I may have to let go of my salt pepper goatee.. though it looks nice on me !
I have a friend who has sported a beard for over 25 years. Recently, he shaved the flowing, white beard off and didn't tell any of us. He showed up at a meeting on Saturday and only two of us recognized him! He looked so much younger.

Haha! Love the baby face. I have one too so my beard makes me look my age. It also hides my nerdy face. Grew a beard 5 years ago and kept it. Wife and mom approve.

I’ve had a trimmed beard for over 35 years now. Recently, I’ve changed it to a Goatee, which has given more skin to shave, so is a nice change. However, in all that time, it is just Salt.

I sported to Goatee for years, started out mostly "Peppa", then half salty.... When I was really not feeling well with the Covid I just let it go. Then it was all I could do to shape it into a goatee. Wife was "kinda" okay with it.
Then I noticed it's ALL salt. I shaved. She said "oh good. You don't look like an old man now!"
People often thinks she's my daughter. I think she was secretly hoping someone would mistake me for her grampa is why she didn't make me shave!

To make a serious response, I do think a clean shaven face generally makes one look younger, though there are occasional exceptions.
Amen, same here. Thats why I have a beard. I look young for my age, even with a beard and theres nothing worse than having a cute 25 year old women flirt with you, only to have to break it to her that youre actually old enough to be her dad (and that youre a happily married man).
Gosh, that's terrible. I'm sure most everyone on here hates it when that happens
I am in my 40's but no "salt" in the beard or hair. I am not allowed to go clean shaven. I must have at least goatee and mustache at all times as I look 12 if not. Wife is younger than I and does not like people thinking she is cougar
