I enjoy shaving so much I figured I was cheating myself of real estate on my face by keeping my goatee

My chins unique angles and bumps has been a definite learning curve to getting a nice close shave without nicks.

I was going to remove mine this morning for the same reason. My wife saw me grabbing the clippers and asked me what I was doing. After a sort discussion, revealing the potential for some loneliness, it was decided that the Goatee would remain.

My goatee Chinese off for a couple of months every year or so. Fun to remember how to shave a chin.

And guess what! It grows back.

My wife also changes her mind frequently. I am usually clean shaven about three months out of the year. It would not hurt for it to warm up here a few degrees before removing the goatee. The motorcycle helmet fits better with it.

I did the goatee for a lot of years and shortly after starting DE shaving 5 years ago I ended up hacking it off not because of lack of real estate but of getting skunk stripes or blotches of the dreaded grey/white. I normally keep a mustache but a couple times a year that gets hacked off as well and I have the trouble of getting a decent shave under the nose. The big thing is in the way! In a way I kind of like the clean shaven look but my upper lip has been feeling kind of naked the last couple weeks. Today might be the last day of a clean upper lip and think I will let it grow out again.

I start growing mine each year in mid-October, and it's usually shaved off when we open our swimming pool in mid-May.
My wife loves it, so, after 25 years of a glorious marriage, it's another example of "Yes Dear ..... Whatever you want."
But I still get to really enjoy my beautiful daily shaves, all around the goatee. Ahhhhh. ..... Life is good !

I like shaving also, but can't see sacrificing my goatee. To be fair though, I shave my head also, so I have lots of real estate to work with already.
