2021 Shave Purchase Sabbatical - Shave Trek

I’d love to join but i only ever have one soap on hand so when it’s done i buy to replace it. Is that acceptable or would i have to buy a stash for the year? Only reason i ask is because i’m in the leap year sabbatical and from my understanding it’s buy to replace items only.

I'll waive the leap year sabbatical rule if you need to buy extra to make it through the year.

I’m not. I completed the November GRUME and am in the the December GRUME now. I haven’t even dented my hoard. I’m planning on trading if by some freak of nature I truly need something.

On a related note...if during the sabbatical someone finds themselves short on something I’m open to trading. I’d prefer CONUS for shipping cost reasons but will trade with any brother anywhere in the world if they’re truly in need.

I’m heavy on blades (DE, Schick injectors and Artist Club), brushes, and razors.

I know this is heresy but I also have cartridges for all Gillette’s from the beginning of cartridges and most Modern Schick cartridges, Harry’s, DSC and Defender. I only need to keep two of each for an experiment I’m conducting.

The only thing I'm restocking during the first two weeks is one 100 pack of Med Preps. I have enough to get thru Year Eight, but my wife resumed using her Lady Gillette. So, since I am only a few blades past what I know I will use in 2021, and she's using a number I can't predict, I will err on the side of safety.

I do shave atleast every other day, but stubble is hard, so I wanted to get me an efficient razor.
I love my BBS no doubt about it, but it still doesn't satisfies me somehow.
IDK, maybe I've had so many rough shaves in the past, that the (BBS) pampering is feeling odd ?

Not going to buy mild razors with my beard type, first one was mild, was fine to learn but I Pifed it. If you already have the BBS, would definately go for the GC 84. And probably the OC if it exists. My 2 cents.

Great advice, this'll help my curb future RAD.
I got bored with my Close comb mild razors and now I hardly look at them (they were less than$2 and $5 max), so no financial loss), I'll definitely give 84 OC a thought.

If I don't get it as a stocking stuffer I will order some peppermint oil. One or two drops of that whipped into your prepared lather gives you that cool sensation like menthol does and the peppermint smells great. The scent will overpower whatever you mix it into but if you are a menthol junkie, I'd highly recommend giving peppermint oil a try.

I'm in at #33. I really need to stop spending on DE Shaving stuff. I will order some soap and a few more blades today and quit spending for a year. I have several razors that were purchased a couple weeks ago these should start trickling in.

Maybe I should have stayed with Dollar Shave Club, the shaves were not as good but I did not spend as much money.

I am in. I can top off what I might need during the resupply period. Aftershave and soap may be an issue I just counted 25 DE razors and 21 SE razors so maybe continued restraint is not a bad idea. I will retain the option of one exception to be determined. I don't own and have never tried a Merkur Progress and that is tempting. On the other hand, I see many posts that it is very similar to a Variant, which I do have and like a lot. Restraint success is the only thing holding me back. Clearly I am not yet cured.
