Prep: Hot shower and face wash with Pear’s soap
Pre: N/A
Brush: AP Shave Co Synbad 24mm Emerald Handle
Soap: Stirling Orange Chill
Razor:Rockwell 6s Plate 5
Blade: Gillette Nacet (1st use)
Post: Proraso Green Balm
A/S: Proraso Green splash

This combo was selected by Shave Roulette

I'm letting the wheel choose my baseplate and sod’s law means that it keeps giving me the more aggressive plates so I went for a gentle 2 passer today aiming for a SAS and nothing more.

Also again with the menthol! There is something perversely enjoyable about the icy blast on a cold day though so I don’t mind at all. Proraso Green splash and Old Spice are tied for my favourite splashes.

I can’t bond with the AP Shave Co Synbad though. If anyone within affordable shipping distance of the UK would be interested in a trade for a Yaqi or similar synthetic (especially a tuxedo), I’d be interested.

Prep: warm shower
Blade: GSB
Razor: Gillette Red Tip
Brush: T2
Soap: T + S Madagascar
Aftershave: Alum, Thayers, Old Spice A/S, Nivea Cool Balm

I had quietly given up on the Red Tip for a number of months after my FOCS arrived. I had purchased the vintage razor when I was still green to the wet shave world, tried it for a week with mixed results and put it away. This week some GSB blades arrived and I have been going back to my original razors to see if it would give them some magic that I did not feel the first go-round. Doing my three passes I noticed that my technique has improved exponentially since my last use of the Red Tip (and I will admit that I still have a lot more improving still to do). I could barely feel that the blade was doing anything, so I was concerned at my final rinse off what the results would be. It surprised me, very smooth shave and just below what I would classify as BBS. I am getting to the point where I realize good technique and a blade that compliments the razor will make almost any shave a good one, well YMMV. I would give it an 8.5/10.

Razor: Blackbird sb
Blade: Astra superior stainless (1)
Brush: Razorock 400
Soap: Mitchell's Wool Fat
Post: Bart's Balm
Rating: 10

Super smooth BBS finish and as ever with MWF the post shave feel was outstanding. The Astra Blue blade isn't the sharpest out there but it's very smooth and comfortable. Bart's products continue to impress.

- Prep: Shower and Proraso White Preshave cream
- Brush: Simpson T1
- Razor: Rockwell 6S (4)
- Blade: Viking’s Sword
- Henri et Victoria Cognac and Cuban Cigars
- Aftershave: First Canadian Shave Ace of Spades
- Post Shave: Hyaluronic Acid and Thayers Rose

First shave with the Viking’s Sword! Not a bad blade at all.

The T1 brush is excellent but the handle is a bit small. The Sovereign bristles are very soft and hold a ton of lather. Don’t let the low price discourage you from trying one of the Trafalgars. 👍

Razor: Gillette tech pre war
Blade: feather
Soap: Figaro Monsieur
Brush: Semogue Owners Club Taj Butterscotch.
AS: Aqua Velva
EDT: Aramis.
10/10.
All I can say is wow wow wowMy first time using the tech. It is a marvelous little thing. As i was shaving I didn’t even think it was cutting any hair. It felt like I was “shaving” with my son and daughter, when I just lather them up and shave them with no blade in a Feather Popular( my 4 year old daughter gets real mad if I shave without her).
I fully expected to have to get another razor out and go over my face again. But then I felt it and it was....marvelous! I just can’t believe it. I hope I didn’t just peak on my first shave with it though, and will not be chasing that dragon for the rest of my days.
I will be putting the Aqua Velva away and try again in warm weather. While I like the scent, it is just VERY drying as we head into winter.

Soap: Stirling Christmas Eve
Razor: Gillette Old Type
Blade: 7 O'clock SS (2)
Brush: Omega boar
Aftershave: Pinaud VIBR
Balm: Nivea sensitive

Is it too early for Christmas Eve? Nope! Such a nice scent. Got a very minor weeper with the old type, but that's fine. Didn't need to use the pencil on it. Been using VIBR daily for what feels like forever at this point. I usually switch up the aftershave. Wondering if it's a seasonal thing.

Prep: the usual one
Soap: TBS Maca Root
Razor: The one in the picture, Gillette Tech, made in Argentina (safety bar, nickel plated by me)
Blade: Astra (day 4)
Brush: NN, horse hair, acrylic handle
After shave: Aderma plus Swiss Just Arnica balm

BBS, 9 / 10

Nice shave, chose this razor because the blade felt worn out in yesterday' shave; I guessed the safety bar would work better than an open comb. Several passes, mild pressure, no irritation.

Prep : Shower, pre shave oil
Blade : Supermax Platinum Plus
Razor : Pearl SS -09 Matt
Soap : Trigodon Wild Seas
Brush : Shaving Station synthetic
After shave : Nivea Sensitive balm

Shave went well but I could not get ATG under my jaw line/ neck as it almost every time leads to irritation.
It was a 2 pass (WTG, XTG) clean shave finished with Nivea balm.

Supermax Platinum Plus performed better than I expected.
