DFS today. The Omega shed a few more hairs today. Annoying to find one in my razor when rinsing. Oh well.. The brush still makes a great lather.
Did a 3 pass shave. No nicks, no weepers, no irritation.

Wednesday morning shave

Razor: Dovo
Brush: Boar
Soap: Mogno
Post: Old Spice

A pleasant shave this morning. I like Mogno, but I’m slow with the SR and notice I have to re lather to maintain a slickness. Perhaps I needed it wetter to start, but I have a few other soaps I prefer when using my SR. No biggie as the other attributes of Mogno compensate. I think the Col Conk mug and brush set are coming up on 30 years...ouch. Despite having neglected that wee brush it’s a consistent performer.
Happy Wednesday!

It’s been so long since I shaved with one of my DE razors, they all had dust on them. It was time, and I had a hankering for my big, heavy Parker semi slant. A brand new 7 O’Clock Sharpedge and I was ready to rock.

After all those shaves using vintage GEMs and Autostrops, the Parker was going for a new land speed record. It was literally flying over my face like there was no blade in it, mowing down whiskers to bare defensless skin when reality slapped me in the face! I nicked my nostril! Blood!

It’s been so long since I’ve had a any kind of a cut shaving that I almost forgot what to do. Aaaah...911. No no no...styptic pencil...yes, that’s the ticket. I must have lost half a drop of blood. Liver for supper.

In spite of everything, it was a nice BBS shave, but it taught me a lesson. “Slow Down” and keep those wonderful good looks intact. Women dig scars on guy...but usually not on his face.

Slow down and stay safe!

- Prep: Warm Water
- Brush: Simpson’s Special Pure Badger
- Razor: Rockwell 6S (plate 3)
- Blade: Personna (2)
- Soap: Stirling Island Man
- Aftershave: Stirling Island Man
- Post Shave: Thayer’s WH and Hyaluronic Acid

Great shave today. Very close to perfect.

I love Island Man and am using it as much as I can before the cold fall weather hits. It’s such a great soap and AS.

The 6S has become my go to razor. Just a great effortless shave.

Also, I recently stocked up on Israeli Personnas and I’m glad I did. One of my favorite blades. Once my 250 Wizamets arrive from Morocco, I will be set for blades for decades. 👍
