Arko August 2020

Semogue 1250
Arko stick, pucked
Game Changer .84P
Medical Prep blade
Lucky Tiger splash

Incredible lather. First use of the razor. Can it unseat my Rockwell 6S? Today was promising, but it will need to get better (i.e. I will need to get better) from here to surpass the 6S.

Today's Arko shave- 9.4/10, DFS, but small bit still felt under the jawline ATG:

Soap: Arko stick
Razor: J3 Custom Western ground kamisori
Brush: Yaqi Aqua badger
AS: Cade

Chandu

I Waxed The Badger.
Day 4 of Arko August

Razor: Schick Eversharp Lady Injector
Blade: Chick
Brush: Shavemac Badger
Soap: hmmm, what was that, let me check, I think I have it here somewhere... Arma Arko, that's it. Some Farmerguy says it's good stuff.

Quick lunch hour shower and shave after working out.

Tue 3rd Arko SOTD
Soap Arko Stick
Brush Yaqi 28mm Synthetic
Razor Parker 26C OC on Yaqi Handle
Blade Elios Inoxidable 4th
Post & Aftershave
Ice Water + Special Thayers Mix
Hyaluronic + Old Spice Lime + Polo EDT
Very nice thick and slick lather. Scent is pleasant for me...
Shave with razor paired with the blade was smooth, sharpish and reasonably comfortable. Almost no blade feel. Went for better result and pay for it with some creepers. 3+1 multiple passes. Between bbs to dfs. Icy water rinse followed by Thayers then Hyaluronic and Lime.
Rating 8.5/10

I'm thinking of losing the foil/wrapper on mine too. I like the bottle storage concept too.

The brush is a bit more springy-flingy than I would like, but I'm learning to use painting strokes with it. Thankfully, Arko is very forgiving, so this is a great way to practice a new-to-me technique. :)

Third use in August:

Preshave: Hot washcloth, H & B Vitamin E Oil
Soap: Arko, bowl-lathered
Brush: Cheap Boots boar
Razor: Rockwell 6S, R4
Blade: Astra SP, #1
Post-shave: Nivea Balm, Freshwood (Boots) AS.

Made a thinner lather this time. Had to use a second brushload of Arko to thicken it up. It worked fine, but was still too runny.

I should be able to zero in on an optimal lather in one or two more tries.

Chose the R4 plate to run in a new blade, but got some mild user error on the left side of my jaw. I'd still call the end result a DFS.

Didn't get much of a soap sting this time. Maybe using Arko is a route to tolerating alkaline soaps.

Meanwhile, I'm waiting for the Game Changer .68 to show up; ETA is 7th August.
