What is the scent of La Toja?
Lots of great stuff you have there!
It's warm, sea-breeze, and tobacco-ey to my nose. Some people say milk-salt. La Toja sticks rock. A tiny amount makes gobs and gobs of delightfully whimsical lather.
Fresh laundry hanging in the breeze near the sea shore.
I use La Toja cream, have for the entirety of my time traditional shaving (over 9 years). The mineral water in its composition is terrific on my skin. There's just something about it.
Those are all excellent soaps!
I end up using Haslinger Schafmilch, Mitchell's Wool Fat and Tabac more than any of my other soaps - incredibly consistent performance. La Toja Cream and Stick are also great!

To me it smells of the sea. Slightly salty and clean. It’s a must buy. Exceptional performance

Oh, I should also note that I have a puck of Haslinger Aloe as well. I really dig the scent.
I don’t think I’m going to miss those expensive artisan soaps that I use to collect.
I went way down the expensive, artisan rabbit hole... Grooming Dept, B&M, A&E, Oleo, Zingari, etc. Always chasing the newest bases and must have scents. But honestly in the end, nothing makes me as happy as these humble, legendary working man soaps.

I completely agree. I use William, Haslinger, MWF, Tabac, Clubman. I only have one artisan and that is Moon Soap Union scent but once it's gone, it's gone. That rabbit hole is endless...

I started ordering limited run soaps from different small batch makers and while some have been okay, I haven't really found something that makes me think i would want it all of the time.
the value of some of those you have listed (which I have) is really hard to beat ( and besides they lather great).

Oh, I certainly will. The aftershave didn’t do much for me, but the soap is amazing!
Remove the Palmolive and add Valobra, MDC and Castle Forbes and you will have my rotation of soaps. Can’t go wrong with any of them!
Man, you guys are gonna get me in trouble with the lovely lady I live with....
There is such a thing as too much variety. I’m down to 6 favorites now some of the above included.

For me Tabac and MWF are the two best soaps I have ever tried and along with Cella this makes a great trio and all you could ever need. I have no interest in limited edition soap drops of the latest and greatest, which are subsequently rendered obsolete when their makers bring out a new 'base' this time made with with vegan albino unicorn tears. YMMV
