What's new

Safety Razor Acquisition Thread.

Just snatched up this user-grade Aristocrat. Once I clean it up, it should look a bit better.

Just purchased a Parker A1R as a travel razor. Wow. It’s aggressive, even with a Shark Super Stainless mounted. Aggressive, as in you can hear EACH HAIR getting cut. That’s my daily, a Merkur 34c, on the right for comparison. It’s pretty far to the other (mild) extreme. Pretty happy with the Parker, as it will fit into the nifty little leather case in my hand. Takes up less space than a cartridge job, and doesn’t break.

Ordered two things recently that I'm waiting for. First one is a Merkur Progress, should arrive in the beginning of next week.

And found a no brand SLOC head on aliexpress that I ended up buying for two bucks. Been curious about the SLOC for a while, but havent bought it. Then I noticed while shaving with my fatip SE gentile plate that it retained some water, and I really liked the pass with that. Which made me think about the SLOC again.

Going to be a while until it arrives however. But if I end up not liking it at least I havent spent that much money on it.

Just got a new razor yesterday. A Fendrihan stainless steel Gold PVD razor. The Fendrihan razor is excellent. Lots of blade feel, minimal irritation and a near BBS shave. Only problem is the gold PVD coating is coming off the top cap. The razor was 50% off - $52cdn.
