Hi there.
This being my first post, a quick backgrounder on me.
I'm a retired engineer in the SF bay area, and I guess my first blade restoration was a rusty cavalry sword my grandad gave me 40yrs ago from his dad..
Forced to retire early due to health issues, I taught myself the antique conservation techniques that I always wanted to learn. Paper, wood, metals, and I did a long haul restoring early phenolic plastics. (formica, bakelite, catalin, etc) My house is full of pre-1925 radios and electricity experiments, and I have a vacuum tube site, uv199.com. (nothing for sale)
I dont own a cell phone, or an electric razor. My Van Dyke has only left my face once and my wife cried.
Am hoping to learn about edgework, repining, and share some stuff I learned from other restoration areas.
My collection of Coupe Choux's is mostly early Sheffields, framebacks and stub tails.
I ordered my first spankin new blade this week: a Boker Celebrated Wenge.
I am going full caveman until it arrives!
