Identify - Gillette or non-Gillette?

My son was given this razor by his girlfriend and the only mark is a stamped 66 on the inside of the top plate. Does anyone have an idea of maker and what era?

I think I've seen one on eBay.
Sold under the name "New Gillette Tech 3 Piece Vintage Ball End Safety Razor Replica 1965"
Pretty pricey, 46 Canadian Dollars.

It does look similar to a Gillette Tech baseplate. I’m thinking a Gillette clone but every time I hazard a guess I get corrected pretty smartly.

Looks like the cheap made in china concord razor I got from an indian shop last year. It died after 2 weeks.

You sure this is a vintage and not a cheap modern chinese razor?

May be wrong, but looks like a modern handle, Tech baseplate, and possibly a Tech head. The domed head looks like the late 50’s Tech’s but I thought they were all Gillette logo.

If it is the one I found on eBay it is described by the seller as:
  • New 1965 British Gillette Tech replica.
  • The only true replica of one of the most popular razors of all times.
  • 100% stainless steel handle.
  • Chrome plated.
  • Famous vintage 3-piece razor.
  • Completely faithful to the original.
  • Shaves exactly like the original.
  • Stunning highly polished chrome plated finish.
  • Ball end handle.
  • CNC Machined for superior replication.
  • Perfectly balanced and weighted.
  • Makes a great gift.
  • Makes a wonderful travel razor.
  • See manufacturing video below.
  • Lifetime warranty against defects.
  • 30-day no questions asked returns. (Try it first....)
And it also says it is manufactured in India, not China
