NOS autostrop blades

Recently I acquired several 5 packs of NOS unopened “rustles” autostrop blades. I opened one, cleaned and sanitized it with barbicide. I then stropped it for 10 passes using the strop that comes with the kits. I loaded it into my VC1 and gave it a spin. I didn’t change anything pre that I normally do.
The shave was terrible!! It would not cut. I switched to a Feather S E blade to finish it. Should I have stropped some more or have the blades lost their oomph? They’re all unopened NOS.

Try another one without stropping first. Maybe you wore off the edge.

how did the feather blades shave??

You have to hone the blades, then stroop them.

How do you hone them? Stones or film. Do you use a device with them?
