Cane? I'm Able!
Caught my first Coho today. It really put up a great fight. I was trying to decide if I should try to take a picture, but I was so cold that my hands were shaking so badly that I decided to just make sure it would stay in the net and water for a good release. It was not a trophy, but a respectable fish. I was worried I would drop my camera in the water. It was 31 this morning, I got to my favorite spot before sun-up, and ice was forming on my guides every 10 mn. After it was over I went and sat on the bank for a while and tried to warm up my hands. A guy came by to tell me that I had left my dome light on in my car , so I had to run back to the road to see if my car would start. It did, and I just decided to go home and drink coffee for a while. Good fun.

Awesome!

My eldest and I snuck out before little brother was awake. Quality time without electronic distractions. He talked about random stuff like games and what not. He talked about the kids and teachers at school. I showed him how to set up trout rigs and strike indicators. I went to take a leak and when I came back he was reeling in a fish on my pole! I showed him how to clean a trout and he was fascinated. We ate sandwiches on the ride home. We might go tomorrow and bring little brother along since he was jealous.

Kentucky DNR stock trout every spring in a few local lakes. They were delicious.

The commercial boats are working already. It took him a half hour or so to break his way back into the river from, at most, a mile out.

Bayfield Ontario March 17 2019. Stiill too cold for Coho and Rainbow, but they're coming. We'll be there when they are.

A stiff west wind coming right off the lake. Brrrr.

Just now finding this thread. Glad I stumbled across it as I usually go fishing every 1-2 weeks depending on what big army has me doing. Here are a few recent catches!
