Monday morning shave
Razor: Rich Leukroth Empire State
Soap: Geo. F. Trumper cream
Post: Old Spice
Phenomenal shave, fantastic razor that I have spent time on to get it where it needs to be. GFT was slick and my face feels smooth. Happy Monday!
Yes , the strop is damaged, that sucks. Then you beat yourself for a few rounds wondering, how did this happen. It’s a lose, lose situation. Once the dust has settled, I like the reward system of a new strop.
This brings back my experience of shaving my dad in his hospital bed. I’ve actually never really thought about it much. He was ill with cancer and weak towards the end. I shaved him daily until he passed. They weren’t good shaves, but he was so grateful. Being clean shaven was important to him...

We dry our clothes on a long laundry line when the weather permits. I rarely see people hanging laundry to dry anymore, not where I live anyway. I like the simplicity of it and the connection to things past that some practices have. The physicality of it appeals to me. I split rounds with a...
I was curious about DE razors so I researched a little. Videos and forums contained much content. Some razors were mentioned often as decent beginner choices. The salesperson at my local knife shop suggested a Merkur 38C. I already knew Merkur was a common suggestion for new DE shavers. I liked...
These 3 razors were part of a set I purchased with the intention to practice and tinker with. They all have their own issues, geometry, previous ware and what looks like buffing damage and metal burn. It has been rewarding working through the challenges and learning as I go. Just putting in the...
