    Dremel Router?

Some interesting "toys" on the Proxxon site! I didn't even know I wanted a lathe...until now :w00t:

    Dremel Router?

Thanks for the tips. I've currently got a cheap (underpowered) copy of a Dremel so was going to take the opportunity to upgrade. I've seen some RotoZip stuff around so I'll check their range.

    Barbour Waxed Coats?

If the temp is above 10 degrees C, I find the Hoggs jacket can be a bit too warm to wear with a shirt AND jumper/suit jacket...particularly if you're moving round a lot (remember, they're not breathable like GoreTex or other modern synthetic fabrics).

    Dremel Router?

Does anyone have any experience of Dremel's Plunge Router attachment? My good lady wife has started asking what I'd like for Christmas and I'm currently well stocked for the Shavepocalypse! :thumbup1: I've been thinking about upgrading my (very) basic multitool to a proper Dremel (so I can...

    All I want for Christmas

I can see why you like it! :w00t:...and it's on sale at the mo  At least we know where to point your other half when she comes asking

    Barbour Waxed Coats?

I've got something similar to a Barbour, but mine's by Hoggs Of Fife...a fraction of the price and it's what the farmers and gamekeepers wear here (which is a pretty good recommendation given the weather in Scotland). Go for a jacket that hangs below your hips. If it's properly maintained and...

    Anyone carry a handkerchief?

Always carry a handkerchief (cotton, 14" square approx) in my front pocket for the nose...just grab a clean one everyday from the sock drawer. If I'm going "formal" (suit or dinner jacket), I carry an extra one as a pocket square. I used to use silk ones for this but a fresh, ironed cotton...

Pipe tobacco recommendations for a cigar smoker?

I'm not a cigar smoker (apart from an occasional one at "special events") and have only been smoking pipes for just over 3 months...so I'm not a good source for recommendations. However, before you buy any more baccy, check out TobaccoReviews. It's not ideal for browsing by variety, but if...

Can anyone help with these pipes?

Update: Apparently Old Mokum are porcelain pipes! They can be washed out with warm soapy water after use so they make ideal "taster" pipes like clays.

Can anyone help with these pipes?

A very nice, very collectable, selection there Brad. There is a big market for genuinely unsmoked "estate" pipes...particularly Petersons. Have a look on ebay for completed listings to get an idea of prices for estate Petersons, then add on some extra for the fact it's boxed! The Pete looks...

    Source for Estate Pipes?

So far, I've got all my estate pipes from ebay...you just need to be careful with your maximum bid and watch seller's feedback (as with any ebay purchase). Mark at Pipecraft has a good range of new and estate pipes. Was very helpful with my recent enquiry and happy to answer all my...

3 Pipes and Not a Clue About Them! Help?

btw The Medico Sterling is decorated with Sterling Silver (hence the name). I believe the figures are Aztec warriors.

3 Pipes and Not a Clue About Them! Help?

All 3 of the Medico's I have (Standard, Symphony and Cavalier) are all very nice smokers :thumbup1: That Medico is a very nice shape...it looks like it's got a meerschaum lined bowl.

    my first pipe!

Some of the Savinelli range (Porto Cervo definitely) and Petersons (Dublin and some Killarneys) take the 9mm filters. Also have a look for Big Bens. A lot of the European makers carry filter ranges as well as Denicotea from Israel (although the shipping might be a killer for you).

    Saturday Night Pipe

Don't have that problem here (apart from the bad weather)...Mrs Pumpkin is much more accepting of pipe tobacco than I ever thought she'd be :thumbup1: Personally, I'm finding the GLP blends a bit too heavy on the Latakia for my (current) taste. Been enjoying Dunhill DLNR and C&D's...
