Your face and muscle memory should give you all the info you need in the first two inches of draw. Your face and whiskers will feel the blade and your hand should micro tune the angle without you even realizing it. Muscle memory takes over from there.
I’m coming off a stretch of gentle shaves using select double edge razors and blades. It was like a mini reunion, but tomorrow I’ll be returning to my single edge razors. I’ll be breaking in a new Personna PTFE blade so I’ll probably ease my self back in with a GEM PushButton and work my way...
I too tried the Marco method the other day. The boar was new and the soap was untried. I also found I had way too much water. I think the Marco method is probably very good once you find a brush and soap that like the Marco method.
