    New soap!

The scent is not overpowering but definitely there. I have their aftershave as well, so that would be one way to enjoy the scent. And it certainly would be a shame if it spoils. I've not had that issue myself; I do always rinse off my soaps and leave them open for at least 24 hours to dry...

    Phoenix & Beau soaps

P&B makes excellent soaps. I have 2 variants (Star-Noir and Albion) and will expand them. Great cushioning. Great slickness and the soap can take on tons of water. Very, very good post-shave feel. The owner on YouTube advised to use the remaining lather at the end to wash your entire face and...

30 days in: Thoughts + lessons

Had the exact same experience:) @Esox had some great info in this post. With my Tmeless, I noticed significant improvement in both efficiency and irritation because the blade is more rigid due to the way the razor holds the blades. I read that the Fatip OC razors perform well here for a lot...

MARTIN DE CANDRE - UH, IT'S ALRIGHT, BUT....

Same here. This soap remains a bit of a mystery to me. I started out a bit disappointed as well: I have soaps that outperform MdC in all aspects. Not the slickest or most cushiony, but I just seem to have less irritation with it. Not the best post-shave like soaps with lanolin and tallow, but...

    What are you currently eyeballing?

Thank you very much for all this great info! Nice to know a bit more about this. I'll have a look at the razors you mention and try to find the best middle-ground between looks and price to get for my brother. And reassuring to know the grips work well!

    What are you currently eyeballing?

True, but I see they have some wooden handles... if the wood is oiled instead of lacquered, they should give good grip... around 60 Euro though when it isn't sure if he will enjoy DE. On the other hand, starting with something that looks a little nicer may be more enticing than a razor with a...

10x? ... Well, ehm... Did I mention the great finish on that normal Fatip?... will be a great starter for my brother:em2300:

    What are you currently eyeballing?

Thanks @Esox. I'll give them a read... sounds very interesting. I have not looked at SE before and wasn't aware of the thickness... quite interesting! I keep hearing great stories about the Fatip (and Gillette NEW SC); a pity the finish on the Fatips is so poor, but I will probably get one for...

    What are you currently eyeballing?

I understand: No real need for such clamping with more spring-action in the blade. So the blades changed over the years, but, in general, the razors did not. A bit like the frog in cold water on the stove then. It might have imagined this (was pretty new at DE shaving), but are Merkur blades...

    What are you currently eyeballing?

That makes a lot of sense. I went to a fresh Gillette PermaSharp as I knew it performed amazingly for me in the R41. The blades didn't seem to last well after shave-3 though, but those first 2 shaves were just amazing. It didn't disappoint in the Timeless... didn't disappoint at all! What...

    What are you currently eyeballing?

Interesting. If I can ever try one out, I'll have to check that out:) Why did manufacturers ever leave this concept? I can imagine the manufacturing tolerances need to be more precise for this or nickel/chrome plating gets in the way, but at least for me, this was just so much better.

    What are you currently eyeballing?

Thank you @Calm_Shaver. Yeah, the titanium feels great, especially the weight. And polished it is just jaw-dropping gorgeous! I also like the head-size. With the lather-channels I thought it would be bulkier than it actually is... it is really easy to reach everywhere, even under my nose...

Ai, 2 more days of nail-biting! If it works as well for you as it does for me, you are in for one hell of a treat!!! Let us know how your first shave went when you get it:D

    What are you currently eyeballing?

I :001_wub: it! Truly, this was not what I expected. I expected a little improvement and it looks really nice. After reading the thread linked by @Esox about blade flex, I already noticed that this razor really holds the blade near the edge, so I wondered if that would improve the shave on this...
