Hello ice man. Do you know where I can purchase either the standard 1.6 mm pins? The hole in my razor will also accomodate a 2 mm pin. Any idea where I can find some of those? Will any old rod cut to length do?
Thanks for the replies. That gives me something to work with. The razor is a Heljestrand. I have a pin which might fit. I just have to go to a DIY store to get one of those devices to accurately measure its diameter. I'll be in touch when I know more.
Can anyone point me in the direction of a place where you can get pins of different diameters. The ones I got from the invisible edge in the uk were about 1 mm in diameter and were far too thin. I am looking for something about 2-3 times that.

I forgot to chime in when I passed 1100. There isn't much to say really. Shave quality is consistently good. I don't hunt for BBS because I end up cutting myself a lot. Nowadays, I settle for a quick DFS...
Wacker 7/8 full hollow
Colgate Vintage shave stick
So I just completed my first 1000 and there will probably be many more because I have become so used to shaving with a straight that when I shave with an SE or a DE, the result is not up to straight...
I have been asking myself the same question about creams since I practically never use them anymore except to make superlather. I like soaps because them seem to give me a denser lather because if I am not happy with the density I can always go back to the puck and load some more. Soaps are more...
I have never had to do that to Tabac shave stick. I usually just cover my face until it is covered with a thin film of white and then start lathering making sure to add water little by little until I get it the way I want. When I come to think about it, I have never got to the point with Tabac...
The piece of leather is not stuck to the lid, it is loose. It only serves the purpose of padding between the razor and the lid. If you like I can give you the dimensions of the box and its constituant pieces.
Thanks for chiming in rockviper, this is old news for you but to me it is a whole new ball game. I cannot think why I put it off for so long. The magnet thing in my box is great. If you have a look at the rasurpur site, I think you can get boxes without razors also. Shipping might obviously be...

The other day the Kamisori came in from Rasurpur.de. I shall post pictures later on, just now my camera is not operational. It came delivered in beautiful wooden box that opened with a sliding lid. Just under...

Another 100 shaves have gone by and quality is pretty consistent. I still have not got round to try the kamisori but i have at least finally managed to order one. It is not the genuine item, instead it is a replica that is...
