Recommended blade for a 1930 Gillette NEW De Luxe?

Thanks! I feel like the Feather might be too much for my face right now, before I've developed a better technique. And yeah, I just marvel at the great design of the New De Luxe Big Boy. Beautiful too.

Recommended blade for a 1930 Gillette NEW De Luxe?

I have some GSBs as well as some Polsilvers. Thanks for the suggestion, I'll try them! I agree, the NEW Deluxe is a fantastic shaver... I just have to get better at using it!

Recommended blade for a 1930 Gillette NEW De Luxe?

Definitely more blade exposure! I do need to modify my technique with this razor. Using a 30-degree or slightly more angle seems to get me into trouble pretty fast.

Recommended blade for a 1930 Gillette NEW De Luxe?

Thanks for that suggestion. I have some Personnas, so I'll give one a try. The razor is in quite good condition and there doesn't seem to be any irregularities on the cap or base plate. There is feedback when I shave, but the blade doesn't seem to vibrate or chatter.

What razor/blade did you use today

I used this to trim my sideburns today. This was my first time trying out this vintage Weck Sextoblade. Only one minor nick. I think that after I get the hang of it, it’s going to be very effective. The Personna blades are sharp! I used my usual Proraso Red shaving soap, along with my own...

    Hello from new member

Hi! My first razor as an adolescent was the Trac II by Gillette. I soon upgraded to the Atra system, and then to Sensor. I’m sure that advertising had a lot to do with my choices. I did not like the pivot point on the Mach 3 when it came out, but I did like the Sensor 3 cartridge when...

    Hello from new member

Hi, I just switched to DE shaving after decades with Gillette cartridges. I have a Muhle R89 Twist razor, and I started with Wilkinson Sword Classic blades and Proraso Red shaving soap. In addition, I'm using a DIY pre-shave oil (with EV olive oil, castor oil, tea tree oil, and vitamin E oil), a...
