    After some number of great shaves you'll start associating the scent with great shaves. If you have a stick that sits out, after a while the scent gets pretty weak... and you start to miss it.

    Well, I did start my 'cynical' post with "I'd say try it". I'll stay with that. It looks to me like it will be all right. You certainly won't do damage that can't be repaired except for possibly screwing up the leather.
