    How international were you today?

Considerably more so than normal... Brush knot: China (Maggard SHD) Brush handle: Argentina (hand turned lignum vitae) Soap: UK (Nanny's Neroli) Razor: Canada (RR Mamba) Blade: Israel (Personna red)

    What's Your Brush Today?

Simpson 56 and Nanny's Neroli; excellent hardware and software, but neither the handle or knot can dethrone my Emperor 1 (this definitely falls under the heading of "praising with faint damns").

Any good Neroli scented soaps out there?

A parcel from the UK landed on my desk today, apparently Nanny's isn't answering email, but *is* shipping orders... kingfisher, you are so correct! this is *very* close to the Petal Pusher and has a deeper, rougher scent than other Nerolis without slipping into petitgrain (which I also love...

    Bocote "Eaglet"

The Eaglet got used again this morning, it lathered Phoenix & Beau Albion like a champ. It's turning out to be a great little face lathering brush (as expected) and the grip is super comfortable and secure.

    Lemonade

It's bocote, but with more of the light grain portion than I've seen in a blank before. When I first rounded off the blank I was a little disappointed, but now I rather like it!

Both are drilled 13/16" (20.6mm) and approximately 15mm deep, the knots are 20mm Maggard 2-band, the fan is their Super High Density knot, the bulb, their "regular" version. The bocote handle is slimmer and smoother, but the two deep grooves give a nice amount of extra grip at the base, while...

Anyone else make handles in Argentine Lignum Vitae?

Here's a modification of the Simpson Beaufort pattern, socket drilled 20mm x 15mm depth, with a Maggard SHD knot test fitted. This block of lignum was a darker, more brown color than other Argentine L V I've gotten and also has a less banded appearance to the grain, I like it! The bocote...

    Tung/Watco oil and epoxy?

There are pics in the other threads I posted to this sub forum, though mostly bocote recently. I ought to have a few Argentine L V handles soon though and I'll post them when they are done!

    Tung/Watco oil and epoxy?

I've heard of Tru oil, but never used it, certainly never in combination with Armor all...

    Tung/Watco oil and epoxy?

Thanks for the info! I think I'm going to use a vacuum jar setup to get the finish to really penetrate, then just do an aggressive degrease in the socket before gluing... I'll report my results when there's anything to tell.

...is the name of this handle. I was going for a truncated Beaufort pattern, but there was an area in the grain that kept tearing out, so I was going to bin the unfinished blank, until my GF asked if I could make a different shape with what I had left... This was the result

Any good Neroli scented soaps out there?

Mondial Zagara is the closest to scratching my itch so far, sadly the scent doesn't last more than 20 minutes after rinse, and there's no matching AS or EDC. Phoenix & Beau Pall Mall is like an upside down version of the Asylum Neroli & Black Pepper, with a big dose of earthy (not sharp)...
