    Barbasol emergency shave

Barbasol works well. I think that when we go back to it, we are more relieved than anything else that it didn't lead to mild carnage. I do go back to it occasionally and enjoy it. Then I return to my brush and cream and there is no comparison. It definitely helps to rub it in well to work out...

ELEVENTH ANNUAL "One Blade in February" Challenge - 2020 Edition

Since I only shave M-W-F, today marks the last shave of the month for my 1970 P4 Gillette Super Stainless. Shave #12. The best thing about these vintage blades is that they degrade slowly and gracefully. This week's shaves showed the start of a decline in sharpness. A touch less comfortable...

    Dollar Store AOS Trial Kit

I bought several of them just for the shaving cream and maybe the balm. Oil is not my thing. Perfect for travel. Not bad for a buck a box.

ELEVENTH ANNUAL "One Blade in February" Challenge - 2020 Edition

Shave #10 today with the 1970 P4 Gillette Super Stainless, still residing in a '47 Aristocrat. The ATG pass is getting a bit rough, but still a nice result. Only one more to go before I close out this month.

Gillette Fat Boy so over priced. WHY?

Fat Boys are desired by some shavers and are collectible, so they can be priced and sell on the high side, especially when the hype is running high. When I first got into DE shaving many moons ago, someone had said that Gillette Super Speed TV Specials were the best shavers out of all the Super...

    Best Barbasol variation?

Regular for me. Works just fine and I enjoy the classic scent. I really liked the Yellow Conditioning, but haven't seen it on the shelves in a looong time, and I've moved a lot over the past few years. I'm too cheap to purchase it online.

ELEVENTH ANNUAL "One Blade in February" Challenge - 2020 Edition

Shave #9 with the 1970 (P4) Gillette Super Stainless, loaded in a '47 Aristocrat. I was pressed for time this morning, so I just went WTG/XTG to get myself presentable. Not BBS, but not bad!

ELEVENTH ANNUAL "One Blade in February" Challenge - 2020 Edition

Today was shave #6 with the 1970 P4 Gillette Super Stainless blade. This time, loaded in a '69 Gillette Super Adjustable (Black Beauty). I started on setting 4 and went to 5 for the final (ATG) pass. I use these blades sparingly, so this is the perfect occasion:c2:

Liquid Glycerin - Where to buy in store

Holy Thread Resurrection, Batman!!:eek2: I bought a large bottle of glycerin at a CVS or Walgreens years ago and it's still 90% full. Lately, I've been adding it to Thayer's Facial Toner. Makes a great, non-greasy winter moisturizer.

    Weight

Over time, I've come to prefer lighter razors. I find that heavier razors require more effort to maneuver. Thicker handles are also preferable to me. The benchmark for me (and my favorite overall razor) is the Muhle R108, which weighs in at 64 grams. I have some Aristocrats that are very nice...
