Cheapest traditional shave possible

I'm thinking this would be the absolute cheapest you could go:

-Cheapest safety razor with at least a 4-star review on Amazon (Global Shave Club Latte 3-Piece) https://www.amazon.com/Global-Shave...2630334&sr=8-10&keywords=3+piece+safety+razor

-Cheapest shaving brush on Amazon with at least a 4-star review (QSH synthetic) https://www.amazon.com/Shaving-QSH-Synthetic-Engineered-Acrylic/dp/B076VDDGYR/ref=sr_1_17_s_it?s=beauty&ie=UTF8&qid=1532630452&sr=1-17&keywords=shaving+brush&th=1

-Williams Mug Soap https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B004IH3PJ4/ref=ox_sc_saved_title_2?smid=A3OXTBL6KJH236&psc=1

-Any bowl/mug you happen to have or buy a cheap plastic one at the dollar store

-Shark blades, pack of 100 https://www.amazon.com/SHARK-Super-...1-8&keywords=shark blades&tag=viglink20401-20

Yep the Sharks are single-edged. Cheap is relative. If your blade lasts for 20 shaves, it will be cheaper than one that goes for 5. I get 5 shaves from a Crystal and my son gets 20 from a Feathers.

I bought a Gillette Tech for $5 on the bay and it cleaned up great.

Also bought a new badger on the bay for $6 and it’s still going strong.

Thanks for the research. Some people are looking to make the switch and save money instead of paying for carts.

Good suggestions!

Unfortunately, I learned to distrust Amazon reviews of shaving stuff. B&B is much more reliable IMHO!

An inexpensive way to go would be VDH shave soap, VDH boar brush, 100 blade box of Astras and a vintage Old Style Gillette Open Comb from Ebay. That's about $34 for all of that. It's inexpensive but it's all good stuff.

For the next year all you would be buying is soap and you can get VDH in a 12 pack for about $1.50 a puck.

After the initial purchases you are spending about $18/yr to shave.

That razor looks like the Baili BT131 and if it is I can definitely say that it is a very nice shaver and a good Gillette Tech clone. For the soap I would go with a La Toja shave stick. For the brush I would go for one of the Omega boars which are cheap but very good value. And for the blades I would prefer the Shark Super Chromes. Fun idea for a thread!

My nomination for cheapest possible shave would be:

Gillette Tech that I inherited

Hand lather some inexpensive hand soap and apply it to the face

Use a blade that I purchased from the Dollar Store

Several drops of grapeseed oil applied to face post shave

Well, we all know everyone should go by what works best.
Not necessarily the cheapest, nor the most expensive!

Based on my calculations, my "cheapest traditional shave possible" has a starting cost of $33.13 based on current Amazon prices (including the cost of 6 pucks of Williams). I'm sure most can afford that.
