Great 2 pass BBS with light touchups! And to make it more special, my 12 year old son was headed to his first friend's funeral, so he wanted to lather up and shave with no blade! Sad circumstances, but very enjoyable nonetheless. He used my late Grandfather's Knack (his great-grandfather who he knew and loved and remembers well!)

Finished him off with the Rose Thayers but skipped the Skin Bracer "slap." Strictly on time constraints, however.

Stellar shave obtained tonight.
BBS, very comfortable.
This VdH is really great cheap soap.
I realize it’s actually a little slicker than the Proraso that I like using too.
Scent is agreeable, costs about 2 dollars a puck.
I’m going to stock up on it from Amazon. Cost wise it’s a steal!
Yes I do favor cheap products that work well.

Prep: Hot shower:/Cien ~ Pure Fragrance free Bath Soap Body Wash. & Vosene Shampoo.


Pre:

warm wet flannel to my face.


Wilkinsons Fruits ~ Coconut & Vanilla Body Butter.

Brush: Chinese Synthetic .

Face Lather.

Cream: Groomed Moisture Zone .

Blade: Voskhod (1)

Razor: Parker 24C.

Warm wet flannel/ cold wet flannel to rinse my face.

Post:

Alum Block./Cold Water Face Rinse./Aloe Vera Gel.


Duru ~ Mandarin Cologne.

A new shave set up to start the weekend,It's been a while since i last used the parker 24C,and forgot how smooth this non-aggressive ,but efficient open comp razor can perform. It paired up wonderfully with the voskhod blade resulting in a 3 pass + pick ups silky smooth shave with no errors to report. A superb shave.

Finishing the shave off with a generous splash of Duru ~ mandarin Cologne.

My face is super smooth & smelling wonderful.

I think sharing the shave; the tie in to your own grandfather; those are good ways to open communication. You've clearly done a lot well, besides the shave.

Shaving cream: Truefitt & Hill GRAFTON

Lathering: applied cream on face and face lather

Finish-off: WWR, CWR, cold water compress with shaving towel, Thayers Witch Hazel Original Astringent

Aftershave splash: Floïd Suave

Aftershave balm: none

Apollo head on RR titanium handle, Nacet (2). A more modern aluminum guard/Zamak cap closed comb on this Solingen Apollo yields a very mild but efficient shave. Any help with dating this bad boy (60s?) would be appreciated.
