I came across one of these today, used and dirty for $30. Is this worth restoring?

You can prolly shave with it OK, but you will never get rid of the pitting on the spine. It will be quiet difficult to make it pretty. I would knock the active rust off and hone it up. Its a great razor.

From what I can see in the photos, personally, I would pass on it.
Unless I am seeing it wrong, it looks to have a lot of deep pitting on the edge. The rest of it would clean up ok, not real pretty, but clean.

But if that line on the back side is all pitting like it looks to be, you will never get that out of the edge no matter how much you hone it.

I think the stuff on the backside could be soap scum, but I'm not sure.
I can't tell for sure from the photo. If it is only staining and not pitting, then it should hone up ok. It wouldn't be the prettiest as you will always have scars on the spine where that rust is though.
