Good morning fine gents! So I recently got into face lathering after having to shave at work without the bowl. LOVE it. My set up is a fat handled pre-war tech/WSC blade, Cella, with a Van der Hagen boar brush.
-My prep is rubbing a thin layer of Cella on my face after a hot shower.
-To load, I take an almond size dollop of Cella and press it into the breach of the brush. We're doing wonderful at this point.
My problems occur here and at the end for the same reasons. Instead of only lather, I get a mix of lather and little bits of the croap on my face which gunks up the razor. As well as at the end where I am trying to clean out the remains of the cream from the brush. It also seems to dry out after the second pass and feels like smearing toothpaste.
Would using a shave stick fix these issues?
Seems like it would free my brush up to get a new load of water. I am eager to hear from you guys. Face-lathering is a lot more enjoyable to me than the bowl by far.
