Is it April Already ?!?!

Semogue 830 | EJ BChrome w/ Red IP | Proraso Crema Pre E Dopo Barba | ARKO | Proraso Crema Liquida Dopobarba

Happy April to everyone! Unfortunately I don't have time to take my items on the deck to get a beautiful background for my SOTD pic. But to replicate it as best as possible, I opened my window shade to show the natural bright sun light shining on the items. Anyways, today's shave was quite excellent and I think I have picked the three SS for my rotation this week. 2 Tallow Based and the other shall be Vegetal. Of course one of them is ARKO! Alright Gents, you all have a great day!

Gents, my little Joey has the fever unfortunately and I probably won't have time this week for outdoor shots.

Here is my daily shave:

Simpson Classic 2 Best
Proraso Red Sandalwood Oil & Shea Butter
Merkur 1904 42C
Red Personna
Floid Mentolado Suave

The newest Proraso Red is a terrific performer indeed!

Morning Shave 4/2/12

Pre: Hot shower followed by Proraso P/P cream
Soap: Proraso Classic Green
Brush: 20 MM TGN 2 band
Razor: 5/8" FW Engels Special
Post: Cold Water, Thayer's Lavender and Floid Blue
Results: DFS!

What a refreshing way to start the morning! The menthol cool of Proraso combined with the excellent performance of a classic Razor. There is nothing like a fine shave with a razor that you honed yourself! Great Shaves to you all!

Monday:

Simpson M7 Manchurian
AoS Lavender cream
Feather AS with Israeli Personna
Thayer's Lavender witch hazel

Monday
Brush: Turkish #6
Soap/Creme: Arko
Razor: Black Plastic 3-piece
Blade: Astra SP
Pre: Hot Towel
Post: Stephan Lilac
Hair Groom: Jeris
Result: CCS

Pre-Shave: Hot shower
Brush: Simpson Chubby 1
Razor: C.V. Heljestrand MK32
Strop: 40/60 Neil Miller Linen/Kanayama Cordovan
Soap: Institut Karite
After shave: TOBS Mr.Taylors
Results: First try with the Institut Karite, could have been better, could have been worse. I think the problem was that I didn't get to load the brush enough cause I had to chase the puck around the bowl. Still it wasn't too bad, just a little thin and I got a nice and quite comfortable shave.

Prep: Hot Shower / Hot Towel Soak / Rise Baby Face Shave Gel Rub
Razor: Today I wanted to face test the difference between 'New' German Steel and 'Old' American Steel, so I am using my 5/8 Boker 'King Cutter' Hollow Ground against my 5/8 Shapleigh 'The Shapleigh Barbers' Hollow Ground
Hones: 50 Hard felt / 100 Leather / 100 Horsehide
Brush: 24mm Silvertip in American Ash
Uber: Godrej - All by itself today and it was great over the shave gel rub
AS: Alum Block + OBR Limes + Peppercorns
Edc: OBR Original Cologne
Result: The Boker felt a little 'keener' on my face, while the Shapleigh felt smoother. They both removed almost all the stubble on the first pass. 2 Passes and I was CBS so I passed on a third. This is their second shave since coming off the hones, and I swear it is the stropping making all the difference in the smoothness. THe Shap' got about 100 more strokes post honing than the Boker did, hence its smoothness. I love the OBR and the combo of the Rise under the Godrej leaves your face feeling great! Note the tiny rain drops on the Boker scales. After being 82 degrees yesterday, today it is 40 and the chance of snow is great! Only in Colorado my friends.
