Is anyone putting together a "Pipes, Tobacco, and How to Use Them Tutorial" (Jim, jwhite, or Ouch perhaps)?

I don't have a pipe, but I'd like to read some condensed information about pipe tobacco and how to properly use a pipe.

A breakdown of tobacco types and treatments (processing, flavoring, etc.) would be helpful. Where to purchase pipes and tobacco online would also be great.

I wouldn't mind working out something like this at some point if there was any clear idea on exactly what people want beyond just learning how to load a pipe. Otherwise, I'll leave it to someone more experienced.

Yes. How to load, clean, break in a new pipe properly (without damaging it) and some maintenance/use advice (dos and don'ts) would be helpful. Also, some info on the basic types of pipe tobacco and perhaps some good examples (brand names) of each.

Then, again, you might not. There are some curmudgeons and braggards on there, but it won't take the discerning gentleman long to learn who should just be ignored. There's a fabulous wealth of information there, if you can strain out the occasional olive pit in your martini.
