My winnings from the Carnival of Smiles donated by The Shaving Factory...

Ming Shi Razor
Derby Extra
Rooney 3, 1 (not part of the prize)
Arko Shave Stick
Fonex after shave balm - Sporting Living scent
Proraso Splash (not part of the prize)

The Ming Shi is an interesting razor. I finally figured out what was familiar about it even though I'd never used it before - it has the feel of a single bladed disposable, but shaves like you'd expect a DE loaded with a sharp blade. It delivered one of the better shaves I've gotten out of a Derby blade and my first impression is that it would be a good beginner razor. Light and forgiving, but aggressive enough to shave the whiskers off.

I was also happy to be able to finally try out the fabled Arko Shave stick. While the packaging leaves a little to be desired, the lather generated from this stick is great.

Thanks again B&B!

Good morning. Today's gear:

British Flare-tip Rocket / Gillette 7 O'clock (day 2) / Ever Ready w/ finest badger / Monsavon soap / Thayer's / Aqua Velva Ice Blue / Nivea ASB / Czech & Speake No. 88 cologne

First shave with Monsavon - the scent is definitately 'different', but the lather was very nice. Good glide for the razor, and my skin feels good this morning. This is one I will keep in my rotation.

A very good soap

Another day with some really great shots

I'm not mentioning any in fright of forgetting some - they are all very good.

Wednesday shave:

One of a kind Face :w00t:
No name mixed hair brush
PAL aluminium razor from BOAC with Perma-Sharp (only 27.5 gram ~ 0.97 ounce)

Arko Shave Stick
Thayer's Unscented Witch Hazel
Pierre Cardin Pour Monsieur After Shave

At last I got to try out the PAL. Not the best shave but not really bad either. I found it difficult to get the right angle and it seemed as the angle wasn't the same on both sides.
Ah well, it has been tried and will go back in the fine BOAC case and live on as a display razor. Besides the angle issue I find it too light also.

Weekend is slowly but surely approaching, have a nice day Gentlemen :001_smile

Had a great shave today, thanks to Irisch Moos aftershave. Only my second time using the Moos but it's really growing on me.

It's funny that my co-workers (a manly bunch) don't understand when I say my shave made my day. :biggrin1:

Soap: Crabtree & Evelyn Sandalwood (just for fun)
Razor: 40s Super Speed
Blade: Israeli
Aftershave: Irisch Moos
