I learned that a dryer lather helps reduce irritation for my skin type. I’ll be aiming for dryer lather from now on.

Today I learned that without a shower, warming the lather with a scuttle works just as well for shaving as taking a shower before before the shave.
I added Thayers Unscented Witch Hazel to my shaving routine today for the first time. It will now have a permanent place in my ritual.

Some times you get a razor that is a proto type that I won in a raffle and tweaking a few things from the construction (rounding sharp edges + securing handle better) can lead to a great razor with stellar results.
Cold water shaving is not all that different from warm water shaving and works for me.
An old timer like me can still get a nick from being careless!

Today I learned I am spoiled with great artisans soap bases. I used this trickster soap by Shannon's this morning for my face shave and the slickness sucked and it started to burn my skin. I love the scent and gave it another go for my head shave tonight. No burn but slickness still sucked and zero post shave. But at $10 I can't complain too much I guess. I love the scent and I guess it will be a permanent head soap or I could sell it.

Today I learned the difference between shaving with a Schick Injector razor w/injector blade VS. a DE safety razor and DE blade.
It seems to soothe and tone my skin. I use it just before I apply my aftershave. My face just feels better when I use it. I highly recommend you try it, sir!

Today I learned not to use a Feather Blade in an aggressive DE Razor. I didn't get nicks but my shaving skills need more training.
