Issue with razor? Or operator head space

Long story short I’m not sure if this is just an issue of technique, or an issue with the razor, or maybe there’s nothing wrong and it’s just how it is.

I use to have one of these razors and used it all the time, then gifted it to my old man trying to get him into wet shaving. Well I recently came accross this and had to pick it up as I loved the other one I had. I don’t remember the other one I had being lighter than my red tip, nor having to ride the cap for it to cut anything, nor have it pull hair. I used the other one quite a bit when I needed a quick shave and never had those issues

I used this today, and it was not pleasant at the least. I had to ride the cap, and even then on first pass with a new voshkod blade it was pulling hairs at Times. Small strokes, bigger strokes, same issue. Didn’t make it past the right side of my cheek. Switched to gc.84 no issues same blade. Went back on 3rd pass and tried this razor again and no pulling, but had to Ride the cap to cut anything.

Is that normal with this razor? Or is it my technique ( I’m assuming not)? Or maybe a mechanical/technical issue with the razor and the blade placement

I can’t see anything obvious wrong in the pics, it looks in a very decent condition.

Are Voskhods the only blades that you are using? If you have access to other blades try a different one and compare.

For instance Voskhods work for me best in a Progress at 4-5 but not in a mild razor.

Hadn’t thought about blade tbh as I thought that wouldn’t matter. Odd though. I used voshkod in my last super speed and had great experience. I have a few other blades I can try. Is it normal to ride the cap on a super speed? Like legit ride it

Idk I start steep with every razor and adjust from there.
