I've seen several threads over the years where people post the most unique razors they've found. Most of these unique razors had a short commercial life because they weren't great to shave with for various reasons, and I have plenty of those that are fun to collect. That got me to thinking, what are some of the more unique razors people own that they actually use?
I'd say the most unique one that I use (and could even be a daily driver) is the ATT Calypso SE1 in aluminum. I don't know how long it was produced, but it's no longer on the website. It's unique in the sense not a lot of people love shaving with Artist Club style SE razors, and not a lot of people like aluminum razors. So merge the two together, and I understand why it's no longer available. However, I find the aluminum to be just the right weight for the blades. The Feather AC blades are so sharp, I get a nearly flawless 2 pass shave with it. I'd be afraid the much heavier stainless steel version (which is still for sale) would be too heavy resulting in blade irritation for me. Before buying the ATT, I tried the Cobra in a pass-around and found it to be harsh. I also bought a Hawk v1.0 in aluminum (which is also unique because it had a short run before being redesigned), but I find it to be less comfortable compared to the ATT.
So I'd love to see what unusual razors you all have that you actually use. This is obviously a stock picture--but mine looks exactly like this one.
