i have been out of town and off the grid for a couple weeks. I went to my favorite liquor store and picked up a couple bottles I have never tried.
Let us know how that Caribbean Cask is. I’ve been eyeballing it every time I go to the liquor store but haven’t pulled the trigger. The Lagavulin 16 is very good.
I still haven’t tried the CC but I’ll do my best to report out when I do. I love the Lagavulin though. I need to try it next to Ardbeg and Laphroag Quarter cask.
I usually call my wife from the liquor shop parking lot- I blame the autopilot feature on the Toyoto.Trying to prepare a similar exercise myself. The more difficult part is hiding the credit card bill.
Not the fun stuff but I got a jigger and bar spoon in the mail today 
Well I cracked the Caribbean Cask tonight. Definitely a Speyside. Not much smoke or peat at all. I can really smell the influence of the rum cask. The taste is really approachable. A little saline. Quite a bit of brown sugar and caramel. Good burn on a nice long finish. I like it. It is not quite Aberlour A’bunadh…. but kinda similar. It was cheaper slightly.
Grabbed two rocks glasses from a thrift store today for a buck. Both are from Canadian whiskeys. Crown Royale and Canadian Club Classic. They cleaned up pretty well. Never tried either but maybe some day I will haha.
This is what happens when I'm in a GRUME and can't spend money on shaving stuff.
Picked up a bottle of Old Pulteney 12 yr old today. Been a few years since I've had this one, looking forward to it!

Saw something today I thought I’d never see, my local grocery store with some Eagle Rare.
I also found some Eagle Rare in my local grocery store for the first time for MSRP. So I picked one up. I've been really liking Rye Whiskey lately, but this is almost dangerously smooth with some strong cherry (and maybe some citrus? but really my tongue only tastes two flavors...yum! and Blegh! So I am still working on identifying things). I am pretty happy with it.
Summer is over here and I have packed away the Bourbon and Tequila

I have recently tried Rye (Redemption) and found it very agreeable. How is Rittenhouse compared to Redemption? Don't recall seeing this at Total Wine either... An ABC find?
