The 1st shave wit this blade was awesome! No stubble, nicks, or weepers. Wanted a good shave as the LOTH wants to go ‘shopping’ this afternoon. Also, with heavy rains coming this afternoon, I hope to be able to harvest some rain water for shaving.

Razor: Merkur 34C,
Blade: Polsilver (1)
Brush: Frank Shaving Silvertip, Chrome, 22mm
Bowl: Fine Lather Bowl

Lather: Proraso Blue Shaving Cream

Post: Lather Remnants during clean-up,
Dickinson's Enhanced Witch Hazel,
Myrsol After Shave Blue Splash,
Proraso Blue Balm

I planned three passes but my face felt so smooth and clean after two passes I ended it there. Hardware and software were all great, including the post shave items.
No nicks or weepers or razor burn.

Minimal setup, this morning.

Gillette Brazilian Goodwill (but you already knew that)

German Bolzano, retired, as promised, after the 13 shave marathon

Ach Brito Mogno, hand lathered to my face

If memory serves me, the Greek soldier who ran from Marathon to Athens died soon after delivering the message about the victorious battle. Well, that blade did the same.

After yesterday’s brush relay, I decided it was time for a less is more approach and used my hands instead of a brush. The thing is: Mogno does perform!

Overall - 7.5 for the about to die blade

Sunday shave. Hard to believe it’s August. No rush today. Took out the Wolfman /Personna Lab for the 5th shave. The B&B LE brush loaded the cream beautifully and made a nice, slick lather. A nice four-pass face shave and two-pass head shave with no problems. Off to church in a few. Have a great day, folks.

Have some great shaves!

Sunday morning shave, a delightful shave to kick off Arko August, two-pass with clean up, 9++/10, DFS+, with no irritation, no weepers- just very smooth and the shave felt really clean:

Pre-shave: shower
Razors: Occam's Razor- two-dot head- superb shave today
Blade: Feather Pro AC (5)- still sharp and still smooth
Brush: new- Simpson Berkeley 46 in Best- I couldn't resist trying another entry level Simpson's brush, as my preference for face lathering badgers is between 20-22mm. This brush feels like a winner. Made exceptional lather today and felt great on the face. It seems that Simpson's Best varies some, and this knot felt great in its initial outing- very soft and a bit firm. ARKO will dissipate any remaining funk in a day or two.
Soap: ARKO for August- in a twist-up deodorant tube; just realized the tube cost more than the soap @ ~$2, in a 12-pack ARKO cost me ~$1.25 a stick  :001_rolle
Post-shave: cold rinse, Proraso Green balm, felt like the face desired some balm today and this has always been a dependable product.

Have a specarkola day!

Pre Shave: Warm Shower, Stirling Unscented Pre Shave Soap
Razor: GEM B-Bar
Blade: GEM PTFE (2)
Soap: Stirling Baker Street
Bowl: Blue Stirling Bowl
Brush: Simpson's Persian Jar PJ3 Best Badger
Post Shave: Cold Water Rinse, Stypic Pencil, Thayers Unscented Witch Hazel, Nivea Sensitive Post Shave Balm, Proraso Red AS
Rating: 9.5/10 Excellent 3 pass BBS shave. Four weepers, no cuts or irritation. Again needed two touch ups on neck, no ill effects. Guess I am out of practice using a GEM razor. Happy with the outcome of the shave, upset on the weepers and am sure they are my fault.

That’s a very pretty brush.

ARKO Boarko (ARKO 1, 2021)

A fantastic shave with ARKO and my Semogue Butterscotch SOC Boar. Fantastic lather. I used a GEM PTFE blade clamped down and guided by a Kampfe Bros STAR CRU-STEEL Lather Catcher. An excellent shaver that is both mild and efficient. It’s also fun to use such an old razor that performs great.
This is going to be a fun month of great shaves. 9.985/10…off to a great start!
