The closest thing to 34c would be RR Lupo 0.72, given 34c has a 0.71 blade gap. Lupo is CNC machined in 316L SS. RR has (almost) the same "HD" handle as your 34c, which is also SS. If I were you, I'd give it a shot.
Yes indeed !

I'm no expert & maybe I'm crazy. But I find my Fatip Gentile, which has a small blade gap, more efficient than my GC .84 which has a larger gap.Blade gap is just part of the overall geometry. Blade gap is not what really matters so much as blade exposure. This is how much of the blade extends beyond an imaginary line drawn between the guard and the cap.
@DaveHStone, this subject has been discussed at great length on the forum, so I really don't want to go through it all again. The point I wanted to make to the OP is that gap does not tell the whole story, regardless of how manufacturers choose to market their razors.@Atlantic59, in all the actuality, both exposure and gap matter...
That's really my point. The blade exposure is fairly high on the Fatip (especially the mk1 version!). Gap is not everything when it comes to efficiency/aggressiveness.I'm no expert & maybe I'm crazy. Thanks for confirming I'm not crazy. It's been a tough weekend. That's really my point. The blade exposure is fairly high on the Fatip (especially the mk1 version!). Gap is not everything when it comes to efficiency/aggressiveness.
You might be able to just replace one of the parts on your Merkur HD.

Even if you decide to get a new razor, you will have a backup.
Thanks for confirming I'm not crazy.
That, plus you want a new razor under $70 or so, narrows it down quite a lot. As people were saying Razorock Lupo or Gamechanger seem like a good fit. You have to decide on a few details like which gap and handle you'd like.1. Modern
2. Stainless (presuming it’s easier to care for)
I’m also Interested in the 3 piece razors which would give the potential for buying several baseplates if desired

@Atlantic59, then don't@DaveHStone, this subject has been discussed at great length on the forum, so I really don't want to go through it all again...
You're lucky I didn't do the long version with protractors and trigonometry and so on...@Atlantic59, then don't
BTW bro, you're preaching to the converted. I'm not in disagreement with you.
Rolex is 904L steelAs long as you don't put in acid, you don't have to do anything to "maintain" a 316L SS, it's marine grade stainless steel. You can literally dump it in sea water and it won't rust. Think Rolex Submariner. It's the same metal.
