I have the same razor and shipper . These went out shortly after the patent application was made in November '33. Mine is dated January '34.

No, there just happened to be a nice little antique shop on the way (if I go the long way). Since getting my knee replaced 6 weeks ago, I've had a lot of extra time on my hands so I find myself going the long way more often than not.
Unfortunately no, it was about twice as much as a gallon of gas.
I think I remember seeing a picture of it. Didn't it also have a 1 1/2 cent stamp on the shipper?

I only bought this one for the handle. I like that head very much and I have at least 5 spares. That handle was offered by Yaqi for a short time only during the March sale. Heavy brass. It was only $10 with free shipping. What's not to like.
Time for an upgrade - this magnificent condition French 1930s Bohin set is inbound from a collector friend.
I have a similar set already but this one is pristine, even with styptic holder and glorius blade bank. The Bohin IMO has a truly magnificent art deco/steampunk design and is a wonderful shaver with a reversable baseplate for dual aggression levels (yup, Rockwell and Karve did not invent this, haha). So now my other set can move on to another interested vintage razor nut.

.. Down side of buying old razors is that you have to put in some effort to clean them... And yes I'm aware of the patina but this one gets to shine like it should.
