Mystery hones... Let's see what you have

Thanks very interesting especially about your razors and especially preferred finishing as keep hearing about Arkansas,
Plus one on Shaptons as I own Shapton glass stones2 and 6, very nice stones
Placed order months ago haven’t heard from Dan’s,,
It seems I’m leaning towards buying a ark if I can find one, reason sharpness you others have mentioned
I so appreciate your detailed explanation and your opinion on finishes
What size is your ark?
Thx you

Youre welcome! I have a 8"×2" Black Arkansas from Dans, I actually got it to use for knifes orginally. I had never tried it on my razors since people always say black arkansas stone grit is only 2-4k! Why would I ever use it when I had an 8k waterstone! I had fallen into the grit numbers game and not using my own brain/senses. On a whim I tried it out on my fully waterstone sharpened razor, just a few passes, and was shocked at the improvement the next shave. Few more passes, even better! Just got to be real gentle and careful.

I suspect the "black arkansas is 2k-4k" rumor was started by woodworkers who wanted to keep straight razor dudes from driving up the price.

As soon as SR guys started jumping on the "surgical" arkansas bandwagon, the price of dan's been going up like cryptocurrency.

What could it be?
1. Source is unknown. It was used with an oil.
2. Lapping is quite hard but not extreme, it may indicate the hardness - hard v4.
3. Lapping revealed nice white surface with dark oval inclusions (see the picture in magnification - they are brown/yellow).
4. Honing is extremely fast. I honed on glycerin. See the picture before honing, after less than 10X and after 5 min.
5. 10 min honing leads to HHT at the lowest result (cuts but seldom).
6. The edge scratches are very dense at the same depth but it happens that some of them are different (harder) - that may come from the inclusions.
7. 2 microchips has beed discovered on the edge

I found this stone at home
Probably it's my great grandfather's
No label on it
Haven't tried how it works
I'm trying to find what kind of stone is this
There was an old razor in the box with the stone

Yeah I'd have to look at it on my computer, but on my phone I'd say it definitely has a lot of indicators of some form of Belgian blue.

Thanks guys
Here are some pictures with slurry
If this could help
Today i'm going to try honing on it and see what will happen
If i manage to make some pics on the edge i'll post them
Measurements 152x37x11 mm

I would guess La Lorraine Rouge?

Anyone have any ideas on this stone? It has stumped me. Maybe Arkansas?

What are the dimensions? Can you take some more and higher resolution pictures?

It is about 7.5"x2"×1" and weighs 25oz so.. about 2.9g/cm3? Someone who knows I collect whetstones was asking my opinion and stumped me. Heres another photo, not much better sadly. It's a pretty ugly but smooth stone and came out of a retired workshop he said.

I get this small vintage stone with Filarmónica 13. It is not hard and easily produces dark slurry. The pattern is visible when wet?
What could it be?
