My Guess... 3017

Does this meet regulations?

:happybday: No not me... I started a brick of Vitos two years ago today. Normally people seem to celebrate when they finish a soap but since I am soo slow I figure I could note the birthdays too.

I have managed to miss three shaves in that time period. One was due to crossing the international date line and was not able to get my day/shave back when I returned. The other two days was due to a road trip that was delayed due to weather and I was trying to travel light as possible.

I believe it's been said before but I find it funny how quickly the 3017 mentality kicks in.

My wife was out, and I had the opportunity to use some more of my Proraso today but I didn't want to. Although Proraso is easy to get a nice lather with, I've come to believe continuity is key and I didn't want to miss a day of my current project (Edwin Jagger).

I'm getting fantastic shaves!

Yesterday I finished the Proraso Red, ( i put the last piece on my new soap in the mug) and also the Patrichs Noir aftershave, the soap lasted about 25 days, daily shaving of head (except weekend) and face. I always do 2 passes and a courtesy pass.
Today I started a slice of Vitos Red Coco, about 100gr, and the Epsilon Scottish spirit aftershave, perfect for an almost spring day like today. I took my old Merkur 42c out of my backpack, it will take a while for next trip, paired it with an Euromax blade on second use. Very comfortable shave.

Finished off tallow Haslinger Schafmilch this morning. Top tier soap. Probably the king for thick, heavy lather. Lasted 6 weeks almost to the day. Tabac betters it for straight razor shaving IMO.

Up next will be a 4oz tub of Strop Shoppe Instinct with lanolin. I don’t remember the scent description. Clean. Maybe woodsy? In the AoS sandalwood quadrant of the galaxy, at least to my nose. If history is any indicator this should be around a 3 month project.

10 Days ago I finished my Derby Stick. Last two week of my journey with Derby, I sliced (very thin slices) the Derby Stick and press to a bowl. This help to finish it faster.
And I started my journey with Cella. I weight with a kitchen scale and read 152gr. (may be before I used Cella 2-3 times). My average daily consumption is approx 1gr. I weekly weight with the scale. To night I read 142gr.
Some days I used my Proraso Boar which is a real soap eater. Last two shaves accomplished with nearly acquired Berkeley 46. This tiny is not a soap monster at all :nono: but it is so smooth on the face.

My first soap kill of 2021! Finished off a puck of Vintage Williams yesterday. I started on it January 1; it already had 24 shaves on its clock. Final tally was 80 shaves with an average usage of 0.625 grams per shave. Easy to generate profuse amounts of lather from this soap in my experience. Lather is good except that it doesn't have much residual slickness. No scent that I could detect.

This morning I started on a puck of MWF with 61 previous shaves on its odometer. Nice rich lather. It needs plenty of water.

Finished Musgo Real Lime Basil today after ~3 months. The scent was OK, but had this weird rubber tire like note that would come and go. Performance was excellent and the lanolin was welcomed with our cold, dry winter. I went back to bowl lathering with a thinner, wetter lather to maximize slickness.

Next up is a puck of SV Stella Alpina which has, to me, an intoxicating scent. It’s about 85%, so I’ll pop up again in ~5 months.
