What's new

Safety Razor Acquisition Thread.

You can get a red celluloid tape that is era correct and tape it from the inside. Nice set.

Oh. I've got plans :)
First this...

Next I'll lay them out on gummed paper tape to join the pieces as one again. Then finally put the piece right back in the way it was with adhesive as original.
Depending on my level of OCD at that moment, I may do the same at each corner, converting the paper tape under the printed top layer.
Alternatively I can just lay the gummed tape in each corner to be seen. I like paper tape with cardboard as it's original material, and easily reversible... if for some reason you want to take it apart again.

Very good ideas!!! I'll watch and wait with baited breath!

Done! Had an even better idea for the corners (all 6 of them). They were all split the whole way.

I diluted some wood glue.
Dipped, then poked a toothpick in between the layers on both of the cardboard edges edges to be joined.
Held together 60 seconds.

After that, they were soppy, tacky, and pliable. I easily filled the rough peeling printed edges into each corner.

It thought it'd be a likely unsuccessful test on one corner...45 minutes later I was all the way around.

Let it set overnight, and today the 300' roll of 2" gummed paper tape came from Amazon...for $8.
Anyone needs some lmk lol.

I'd suggest a long hot soak followed by a toothpick.

The spot after a few hours in vinegar and lightly using tooth picks and tips to clean it

This is the razor after a few hours in vinegar and using toothpicks and cotton swabs to clean it I really wish the spot wasn’t that bad but then again I’m happy with my purchase I bought 4 razors for $50 2 of them were slims so not bad for a $12.50 slim this day and age this one looks like an I-1

Picked up a king oscillator. Just finished restoring it.
