OGD 114 is amazing at the price point. I'll be picking up and hiding a bottle very soon. Maybe two. There are bourbons twice as expensive that I enjoy but there is little difference between them that the OGD 114. I hope I don't tell too many people about its secret and make it hard to get.Buffalo Trace is my favorite bourbon anymore. I am deeply enjoying the Old Overholt, Evan Williams and Old Grandad 114 my secret Santa got me though. All blends I’ve considered and never got for myself.
With Buffalo Trace, Price is good, full body, very smooth. My local shop can keep it fairly regular. If I can keep that and rotate a new blend, I’ll be a happy camper.
I used to be a scotch guy but I can’t stomach laying a $100 bill on the table for a 750 of a middle of the road scotch.
Smooth Ambler Old Scout is an easy drinking bourbon. $40ish a bottle. I can drink it anytime but it was hard to get for a few months. I'm seeing it on shelves again.
Henry McKenna I haven't seen in a year and a half...
Ancient Ancient Age is a young bourbon that BT uses in a lot of its blends. I can't find it ever. Next time I see it I'm buying at least two handles. Its cheap and rough around the edges but at $24 a handle it keeps me content. Unless I hate it after my recent splurging on nicer bourbons.
