Friday night shave

33052BBE-F935-4185-8719-33D5D257583E.jpeg

Prep: Noxzema face wash
Soap: Stirling Weekend in Malibu
Brush: EJ Best Badger
Razor: Merkur 34C HD, shave #10
Blade: Shaico, shimmed (#2) -> SuperMax Platinum, shimmed (#2) -> Vi-John Super Platinum, shimmed (#1)
Post: Alum -> hyaluronic acid -> Stirling Bergamot and Lavender splash -> The Cool Fix -> My Nik is Sealed -> Soap Commander Integrity balm

Two-and-a-half passes resulting in a shave that was not particularly close and definitely not comfortable, as evidenced by the post. 👆🏻

Decided to try the Shaico again and it continued to tug. Swapped it for a Super Max from an attempt a couple of weeks ago and it tugged again, too. Then, went with a Vi-John for the first time and it seemed okay. However, I wasn't paying attention and managed a pretty good nick on the right side of my neck. Totally user error.

A splendid shave.

I'd forgotten how soft the Shavemac silvertips are, but still with plenty backbone. Thanks to today's new team-mate that was one extremely luxurious shave.

Happy shaves guys. :cornut:

Greetings,

Another new eclectic shave set up to start the weekend.

Maiden shave with the Katana SE razor a early christmas present to myself of which i will be using with all my SOTDs for the next two weeks to get myself aquainted to shaving with it.

The maiden shave verdict?...Let me briefly start by saying the half DE blade wasn't that difficult to load with a few more practices it shouldn't be a problem for me...The Euromax Platinum half blades i find isn't an aggressive blade, but is a good suitable matched with the assertive katana making a smooth efficient duo...As with any razor i shave with either aggressive or non-aggressive i treated the Katana with the respect it rightly deserved.

The razor has a good blade feel which didn't give me any reason for concern, and i found my shaving angle easily after 5-7 seconds on the first pass feeling comfortable shaving with each pass. What i like about the Katana is the audio feedback which tells me it's cutting through my stubble and i've found the right shaving angle...The efficiency of this razor i like very much i was very near BBS smooth after the second pass but carried on just for the sheer pleasure of the shave & to use up the remaining lather left in my brush.

I can't compare the katana with my vintage SE razors as it has a completely different feel & design...All in all, for a maiden shave it felt comfortable throughout the full shave mowing through my stubble effortlessly.

It's only my maiden shave with the Katana, but i feel it's going become a regular firm favourite in my razor rotation.

A enjoyable comfortable 3 pass + pick ups very near BBS maiden shave with no errors to report.

Finishing to the shave off with a small dollop of Nivea Men ~ Sensitive PSB.

My face is feeling super smooth and smelling divine.;)

Stay safe, and enjoy the start of the weekend ladies & gentlemen.😎

Well, it was Sandalwood Saturday with Proraso Red. I'd be lying if I told you it was a good shave... It was great!

Prep: Hot Shower and Bloom/Lather Building Water
Soap: Proraso Red
Razor: Rockwell Razors 6S Matte Black(R6, R5, R4, and R3)/Merkur Mustache and Eyebrow Razor
Blade: Tiger Platinum (4)/Merkur Mustache and Eyebrow Blade (No Idea)
Brush: Omega S-Brush
AS: Proraso Red
ASB: Proraso Red Pre/Post Shave as ASB

Didn't bloom the soap. Just wet the brush, ran the tub under some hot water to wash away some of Iraq, and loaded. I took the brush to the bowl and built the superb lather pictured below. Three passes, hit the eyebrows, and killed the blade under the arms for a superb shave. The Proraso Red AS killed any germs left on the face from the water supply and the Pre-Post Shave was used as a balm. Smelling good. I wish Proraso would come out with a Red EdC/EdT.

That looks like a great shave. I have my RR GameChanger lined up for tomorrow. Going to use the .68 series of plates. After 2 or 3 shaves with that I switch off to the .84 series of plates.
