Great looking pipe coming your way!

One day I will commission one. I had an Edison Pen Co custom made for my wife for her birthday, Christmas and wedding present when we got married. It has our names, wedding date and a Harry Potter quote engraved on it instead of the Edison Logo and standard stamping. It was fun. Choosing the nib color, nib size, shape of the pen, pattern of the pen, pen clip, accents and filling mechanism was a lot of fun. Hoping she returns the fun when someday. (She loved her pen BTW. So much so she barely lets it out of the case. Like she'll sign a check and put it right back in.)

I know you will let us know how the new pipe smokes when she gets in. We all live vicariously through you at the moment!

Thank you . . . I will probably come up with a dozen things I would do differently, once I have it in hand, but that is just how my neuroses operates.

I will say the Maker was quite definitive on nailing down my desires. I had opened the conversation basically by stating I wanted a 2:1 ratio for depth to bowl diameter, and a "roughly" Rhodesian shape. Everything after that was in response to his questions, which is a good thing, because I am still fairly new to pipes and know NOTHING about how to make one properly.

Very much looking forward to getting this in hand and, more importantly, loading it up for the first time.

I wouldn't have thought that matters much 🤔 so long as you know what you want out of using it. For example, I want it to sit, and I want line of sight to the bowl, so I can see where the flame is going. Aside from bowl size and filter requirements, thhe rest is fairly cosmetic I'd have thought...

... but then again, I don't know much more than you :biggrin1:

And yes, i'd probably get nit picky and wish I'd asked for a few differences too

Wanting differences is how we justify buying a an unnecessary number of pipes. Hush is the word. Our wives must not be let in on our methods of rationalization 😂.

I've stumbled upon Mrs. Rookie's yarn stash before. I promise you, they don't need to steal our secrets on rationalizing _AD related purchases.

All the same, I'll keep your secret if you promise not to mention the Comoy Zulu I was drooling over in the store.

This one? I'm reading it clear.

Cross my heart ❤️

Just ran a bowl of Sutliff Field & Stream Match through my new pipe. Smokes GREAT, and feels nice in the hand, too. Very happy I took the chance.
