I shaved the pig
Friday morning shave

Razor: Dorko
Brush: Boar
Soap: Speick shave stick
Post: Clubman

Just a fine shave this morning. Speick has left my skin feeling very nourished post shave, although I still didn’t dial in the slickness on my first pass. I’m amazed at how little product is needed to produce copious amounts of quality lather. A very close comfortable shave. Clubman Friday all day!

After a warm shower, and some Lucky Tiger Face Wash, I broke into my newly arrived Oaken Labs - Sanctum soap. This is my first experience with a nice, tallow-based soap, and it isn't difficult to understand the appeal. Since I was trying the soap for the first time, I skipped the pre-shave treatment, and had nary a problem, even with my relatively sensitive skin. Shave was with a Merkur 23C, and an Astra SP on its second use. Finished with the matching AS, and everything is fine like wine. The dusty floral and low wood notes are haunting and wonderful.

Within my still novice skill-range, this was a perfect shave. 10/10.

Really enjoyed this soap. Love the scent and lather performance is good too.
Shave with the razor paired with this blade was excellent. Not many blades can pair well with the razor. The Tatra is one of my top blade! Sharpish yet smooth and comfortable for 3passes without issues. Mostly bbs to dfs. With excellent post & aftershave...

Saturday morning 48-hour beard shave:

Hoffritz Slant/Personna blade (4)

Mix of Tabac in stick form and Trumper's Almond Cream

APShaveCo synthetic tuxedo brush

Clubman SR aftershave, Assured lotion, Clubman powder

Luxurious shave this morning. Shower, a little Trumper's Almond as a pre-shave. Then I applied the Tabac stick, face-lathered, added a little more Trumper's, and the razor and I were off to the races. Pass 1, WTG; pass 2, ATG; pass 3, throat only, XTG, plus a bit of cleanup. No irritation or nicks, a clean smooth face that somehow feels like it's been massaged. Verdict: 9.8.

An excellent bbs shave this morning and nick free with zero irritation. The ladas blade worked very well in the Blackbird and of all the blades I’ve tried in it so far this is one of my favourites.
