I have recently found that balms cause my skin to break out, so going forward I am going to use splashes only. In no particular order, my favorites are:

- Floid (Italian or Suave or Blue)
- Proraso green
- Cella Extra Extra Bio splash
- Penhaligon's
- La Toja

Yep, me too. I've been splash-only for the past five years for that exact reason. Balms hydrated my skin too much and led to in-growns.

Scents are so subjective but Lather & Woods Balm (Also available as unscented) and Blackship Grooming Splashes are my favorites. I'm not a big Cremo fan but their cooling balm is nice for a cheapie
