Say it isn't so! This really breaks my heart. He was an amazing person and a great musician. I would have liked to see him live at least a day more than me. I am grateful to know that he claimed to love Jesus, so I will see him in heaven one day.

Yep. He gave a great eulogy/song for George Jones too. I hope the Opry does something for him. Great voice too, though he could play about anything with strings on it.

Now I regret having never went and seen him play at the Hollywood Casino in Aurora. I lived 2 miles from the casino for 10 years and never went.

I hoped to see him when I move South, in about four more years. I just thought he would always be here.

My pops VOLUNTEERED for Vietnam at the age of 17. He lied to get his way in. This song likely speaks volumes to his afterlife.

What this world needs is a little more respect
for the lord. The law. And the working man.

Amen. This was always my favorite song to play on the drums. Charlie ALWAYS emphasized his band being great musicians.

Simple Man was one of my favorites, but I'll admit to having a lot of Charlie Daniels favorites. Really liked the album he put out after 9/11 also, though I heard it didn't make him many friends in certain corners of the universe. RIP CD!
