2020 Shave Purchase Sabbatical - Those Daring Men with their Jaunty Razors & Jalopies

Gents I made a mistake. I went out with my wife drinking. I had some 15% local stout, and some Blantons. We went into the antique store across the street. I crashed my car right afterwards. I couldn't bring myself to pass up the beauties on the side of the road.

A Gem Damaskeen with a pristine case and a Gold Fatboy, with a pristine case and papers. I had to share as I admit failure. I told my wife my reservations about breaking the sabbatical and she laughed and told me to buy them. The people at the antique store asked me to work there part time. The Fatboy is incredible. The case is not cracked. The razor has all the numbers. I am going to get some baking soda and make it gorgeous. The most amazing part is the case. The paper registration card is still perfect. It would have been a crime to not buy it. My poor Mercedes is gone tho. I never seem to fail because of stuff I expected, but most of you would have kicked yourself for passing these beautiful razors up. More pics to follow when I get home after much more drinking. I just cant believe my wife TOLD me to crash the car. She always tries to get my not to. Buy shaving shi, stuff.

I bought some injectors there late last year and she remembered and gave me 10% off too. Apparently she had a toggle or something along those lines earlier this week. Her husband was trying to describe it to me. It was nickel. Needless to say I will be back again. The FB is a C1 FWIW.

Nice finds, I too wouldn't be able to resist that Executive. There's something about avoiding looking, but if you didn't look you wouldn't have. Your wife probably encouraged it to not have to hear about you talking about it for weeks

The gold Fatboy might have got me too. Or an open comb Damaskeene. Luckily all I have seen in the wild is dirty crusty injectors, and a decent keen cutter with a high price tag, and some really rough straights.

PIF's lost or not, I get a kick out of everyone enjoying the Sabbatical for what it is... giving restraint a shot. If someone should fall to temptation, we all get to benefit vicariously through someone else's joy. I enjoyed reading the 2019 Sabbatical as much for the failure follow up stories as anything else. I love it!
