L to R: Kent KS1, Kent KS2, Kent #135 Horn (NOS), Kent V7, Kent V6, Kent V4
Picked this one up recently! Saw it on evilbay and didn’t think to bid on it because I expected it to go at a higher price. Well the auction ran out and the seller reposted it again with a make an offer, so I did, and now I’m an owner of a Simpson W3L butterscotch and it was way cheaper then the starting bid of 40.

Does anyone know of a boar or synthetic butterscotch brush you can buy today still in production?
Simpson sells butterscotch color, but you have to remember these brush handles started out ivory colored, the UV light from the sun that shined on them turned the handles a natural butterscotch color. The handle material was Catalin I believe, the modern Simpsons or any other brush uses an acrylic resin instead which isn’t affected by UV light.

Great brush for hard soaps with some backbone with reasonable soft tips and will paint lather well also.

Good find for your first butterscotch!

Markings look like maybe it was made by Simpson. I’m not a brush expert, but I don’t recall seeing this dual-bulb handle style before.
