Nice bout @macintoshBR

This one is a looker and a beauty example of what I am guessing is a wavy Old Rock. A seven inch stone that appears beaten up by time but unused with a stamp of a Centaur as the logo. Even though it is scuffed and scratched, has a clean surface, no noticeable pattern. Impressive swooping transition and the surviving logo give this stone a extra helping of personality. I feel very lucky to have scored a Coti as good looking as this.

Is the logo familiar or recognized by anyone?

Don’t know about the logo, but that is one of the coolest cotis I’ve ever seen. Every stone should be used, but that logo is so unique...

Nice looking bout.

thank you gentlemen. This stone is very easy to use (has a long axis that allows for a nice X-stroke) and with some patience (200-300 water-only light pressure laps with intermediate linen stropping every 40-50 or so) provides a great, sharp, HHT 4 edge that is probably the best coticule edge I have ever used, even on what I could call a below average blade that is this Dovo Best Quality 5/8”.

I shaved daily with it without a problem and the alum block tells me that I am getting a near BBS shave every time with a great exfoliation but zero damage to my skin. I’m Very happy with it!

I’m really pleased with this one. It’s 8x2 with over 1/2” yellow coti and looks like a stick of butter. It’s hard to put this one down.

Thank you, it will live as a cabinet queen for a while to protect the logo

Nice one David.

I picked this one. In the process of lapping it. Pretty hard stone.

A pair of handsome stones gentlemen, very nice

Here's a new glued combo I picked up fresh after lapping. While playing around for a minute, I find it has an engaging gritty sensation with water only...along with the sound of fine sandpaper.

Having some coticule fun today. These two at the front with the yellow and greenish streaks get me the finest edges of any coticules I have tried vintage or modern.

La Dressante? Or just unlabeled “select” stones? The one on the left in the second picture looks exactly like a recently bought LD I have. Finishes edges CRAZY fast on water, but can make a true mirror bevel if you manage it just right. I honestly don’t have to own any other razor stones than that one, I just like the variety.

Neither look like my la dressant but I suppose they might well be.

Two of them were labelled extra special from Ardennes - came from different vendors.

Neither vender would comment further.

This is the one I have with a similar surface. It doesn’t look like stones posted online as LDs 10 years ago for sure, but the sloppy pencil marks from Ardennes never lie. If yours is fast on water it could be a cousin to mine.
