Facon razor 3.75$

Imagining solutions for imaginary problems
It was too good to be true. I got the Facon today and it was garbage.

How it arrived was a regular bubble mail envelope, which was fine.

The box and blades were in a plastic bag, but if you notice the blades and box look a little mangled.

close up how mangled the blade box was, but the blades look like they might be salvageable after opening.

The end of the box held up fairly well.

The mangled blade box and the box that the razor was in.

I loaded a razor blade in and it was not able to align right, but the posts locked it in that position really tight. Wasn't able to wiggle it around at all. I was also so scared loading the blade, I held it with a towel the whole time.

The blade doesn't touch the top cap evenly, and the edge of the top cap is wavy. The safety bar is also corroded and lacking plating on one side.

So, I don't think I will be using this head. It just doesn't line up well and there is no room to adjust the alignment. If you are looking for a cheap razor pass on this.

On the plus side I was able to get the handle onto my Maggard Razors slant head, but only on the slant head. It wouldn't go all the way onto my Maggard Razors V3M, wetshavingclub.com vintage head, global shave club black tiger head, or my global shave club sumatra head. The handle only got about half way on with the head just listed.

Here is a photo with the slant head from Maggard Razors on the Facon handle.

So in conclusion I don't think you should buy this razor unless you want to gamble on the handle and see if it fits one of your other razor heads. I got lucky and the handle works with one of my favorite heads. It's a shame too because the weight of the razor and look was so nice really. Might try to realign the threads in the handle someday though, it is brass, so kind of a soft metal. Maybe the rest of you will get lucky that ordered one. I hope you are at least.
Got mine in today as well, and the packaging looked identical to yours, right down to the tuck of blades that looked like someone stepped on. I haven't tried loading a blade into mine, just sort of visually inspected it. I was suprised that the handle was "as advertised", but I'm disappointed to learn that I may not be able to attach it to many or any of my other razor heads. I also wasn't impressed with the head, but I didn't look at it all that closely. I'll load up a blade, but I'll be passing on the shave if it looks like yours (which I suspect it will).

Got mine in the mail today and everything (box, blades, crud and corrosion on the head) looks just like @TFAshaver 's pictures.

No way this thing is getting anywhere near my face.

Adequate $3 handle - if it will fit anything. ;)

I got mine yesterday too and it looks identical, the blade tuck looks a little less squashed though. I tried the handle on a Tech and an Old Type head so far and both fit fine so there's that at least. No way I'm using the head that came with it, alignment looks ok'ish but the wavy blade edge is putting me off.

That's good news on the Tech and OT. I guess I'm okay paying $3.75 for the handle and 5 blades (assuming that when I unwrap them they don't look used and/or rusted), but the head is REALLY disappointing. Oh well, nothing ventured, nothing gained....in this guess it was "not much ventured, not much gained".

You are absolutely correct. The handle does indeed work on the Gillette Tech and Old Style. I stand corrected.

Decided to see if it fits my FaTip Piccolo SE.....and it does!

Looks great on the Piccolo SE. :)

Glad to hear you all are having more luck getting the handle to work with other heads. I tried it again, and no dice for me except that Maggard Razors slant. Works perfect with that one head. Maybe my other heads have too much plating on the threaded post? Oh well. Still fun. Maybe as I get more Three piece razors I will have more heads to choose from that will go with this handle.

I received mine. Blade tuck squashed, threads on the head a bit sticky. I haven't tried loading it, but I'm not optimistic.

I took the risk too. It arrived today. It's not worth any amount of money. It's absolute trash. Skip this one.

Mine arrived yesterday. The blades arrived just fine. The razor head is pretty ugly due partly to the poor playing job and partly to to jagged look of the top cap.
With a blade loaded in it, the blade gap looked scary aggressive but appeared to be straight. So I decided to give it a go.
Ignoring the appearance of the razor, it gave me a pretty nice shave. I can't say for sure how many shaves I'll be able to get out of the head since it appears to have exposed zmac, but I think I'll get my $4 out of it.

Well, I was just trying to point out a deal. Hope nobody was mad. I ended up ordering a schone oc. Lol.
I'm not upset at all. I've paid 10 times that amount for a razor that turned out to be of lesser quality than the Falcon.
I'm tempted to use mine until it falls apart.

Why won't the handle work with other
Razor Heads ?
Are the threads not standard size?
